What if my scooter malfunctions?
Scooter malfunctions can - and do - happen, leaving you with no means of transportation. When you become an Unagi member, you can take advantage of free maintenance checks and repairs.
The Unagi Care team is there to keep you on the road and will repair your scooter for free. All you need to do is contact us, and we’ll arrange a temporary replacement.
What if I need insurance?
Some states require riders to have insurance, which protects other road users in the event of an accident. Insurance can be expensive, but we’ve covered that, too. Each Unagi subscription comes with insurance, meaning you get to save money.
Having a trusty insurance policy means you can enjoy every moment of your scooter and use it to discover new adventures.
What if my scooter is stolen?
While e-scooter thefts are rare, they can happen, so you’ll usually have to replace them. Our members get free theft insurance with each subscription, giving them more security and peace of mind.
If anything happens to your scooter, just report it to us, and we’ll handle everything. However, we recommend you invest in a proper locking system to protect the scooter and reduce the risks of theft.
What if I need immediate support?
It’s so annoying when you need advice from a human and get sent through a ticketing system by a bot. We know the frustration all too well, and these systems don’t align with our values. For that reason, we’ve made contacting our support team simple.

Can I choose the color of my scooter?
In most cases, yes. If you opt for a brand-new scooter, then you can choose between our stunning colorways.
However, the preowned rental subscription is subject to availability. We always try to meet your preferred style and have a range of pre-owned scooters for rental.
Can I use the scooter for commercial purposes?
Our scooters are available for personal use only. You shouldn’t rent them out to other people or use them for business purposes. The insurance policy also only covers personal use, and we might be unable to fix or replace your scooter outside of these terms.
Am I eligible for the subscription?
We take our responsibilities seriously and encourage members to use their scooters ethically, considering other road users. For this reason, we have a minimum rider age limit of 18 and will check your details during the sign-up process.
Our team will also perform a soft credit check to review your financial circumstances. These checks don’t impact your credit score.
Should I wear a helmet?
Some states lack helmet safety laws, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t wear one. Helmets are proven to dramatically reduce the risk of severe head injuries, giving you more protection on the road (NCBI).
Wearing an e-scooter helmet will help you enjoy your ride and have a safer experience.
How do you keep my information private?
We need to store our members’ personal information, including contact details, in our database, but we implement strict data protection measures to ensure your privacy. Please see our privacy policy for more information.
